One Lovely Blog Award.

I recently received a One Lovely Blog Award from Jill over at the Vegan Backpacker blog, that jogged my memory & reminded me that Claire at Nothing Happens Unless We Dream also awarded me the One Lovely Blog Award at the end of last year so thank you ladies.

This means that it's my turn to share seven things about myself & to pass the award on to some new bloggers.

1. I eat a much more varied diet since becoming vegan. Before I went vegan I couldn't cook, at all. I literally ate either spaghetti with pesto or microwave meals every day!

This picture is of the vegan Thanksgiving we had last year. The seitan en croute from 500 Vegan Recipes is SO delicious, if you haven't made it yet do it now!

2. I love to travel. I know that's no secret, I often blog about food I've eaten in other countries, but I mean I REALLY love it. I think I could happily travel around the world in a van trying delicious food in other countries every day for the rest of my life.

This is the Fakin' Fish Burger from Yellow Sunshine in Berlin.

3. On another travel related note I love everything about flying. I love the excitement of being at the airport, I love seeing what the airline's idea of a vegan meal is & I love the in flight magazines. I even love having to set an alarm to get a really early flight & I always always hop right out of bed on those days.

4. I play drums, I'm not brilliant & I'm definitely still learning but I love it.

5. I have a vegan tattoo. Veganism is really important to me & it's through being vegan that I've met some of my best friends. I got the broccoli because I just really love it, I probably eat it every day.

This picture's from when it was just done so it certainly doesn't look this puffy anymore, also the shading on the banner's chilled out a bit.

6. I would love to rescue a dog or a bunny but I don't feel responsible enough. Raystede are my local no-kill animal shelter & I often go there just to look at the animals.

7. I would move to New York City tomorrow if I could, I think it's my favourite place in the world.

I took this picture walking across the Brooklyn Bridge in May 2009.

I'm passing the one lovely blog award along to these lovely bloggers whose blogs I adore.

If you wish to continue here are the rules:

1 - Make a post & link back to the person who awarded you this award
2 - Share seven things about yourself
3 - Award 15 great bloggers
4 - Contact these bloggers & tell them they've won

  1. Aw thanks for the award!! And I LOVE your tattoo. I have a plain old VEGAN wrist tat, but the broccoli in yours is AMAZING!!

Speaking of in-flight mags, if you ever find yourself on a AirTrain Airways airline, look for my monthly "what to do in Memphis" piece in Go Magazine. I freelance for their Go Guides section.

  5. Thank you!

I'm so glad I got to meet you in person a few years ago. I love eating travel tours too, although sadly we are a bit more isolated from the world which means it's quite expensive to go anywhere. This year i'm going to NY though so I'm super excited.

  12. Congrats on the award! I also started eating a more varied diet when I went vegan. Who knew I actually liked beans and veggies? :D

We could be the broccoli twins (I call it broccleh) and get together to eat broccleh every day! That stuff never gets old. I could eat plain steam broccleh every single day. Awesome tattoo!

I hope you love the tortilla if you get a chance to make it! :)
